There’s a lot of choices for drug and alcohol rehab centers in Orange County, so how do you decide where to go? The most important thing to do is have a plan of action, and to do that you need to ask yourself some questions:

Is an intervention necessary?

Will detox be needed?

Where will you go when the initial inpatient rehab stay is completed? Will you go to a sober living home?

You can find all of these services on your own by doing online research, but Ocean Recovery offers what may be the best possible option for drug/alcohol rehab and sober living in Orange County. Ocean Recovery is a drug and alcohol rehab program with a built in sober living program as well – this makes the transition from rehab to sober living an easy one. Ocean Recovery can also guide you in conducting an intervention with a certified interventionist, and we can also arrange detox (which is often necessary)

Many people who are dealing with drug/alcohol addiction in their lives (which includes having a friend or relative who is dealing with chemical dependency) don’t have a very good understanding of how to successfully deal with their problem. Dealing with the problem of chemical dependency in the wrong way not only wastes time and money, but it makes the painful process of relapse much more likely.

A good first step is to visit a psychiatrist or medical doctor to determine the nature of the addiction, and get some professional recommendations. Many drug rehab facilities (including Ocean Recovery) provide these types of services as part of a program.

When an individual is reluctant to attend a rehab program, an intervention may become necessary. One warning to take into consideration is that an intervention NEEDS TO BE performed by a professional interventionist, otherwise it’s possible to actually do more harm than good. Ocean Recovery can help you get in touch with an interventionist who we have personal experience with, so just give us a call. The point of the intervention isn’t to ‘force’ someone into a drug rehab program, but instead to get them to realize that it’s what they actually want and need.

Before attending a rehab program, an individual must not be under the influence of any drugs, including alcohol. Detox is a process that can last a few days, it includes medical supervision to make sure withdrawal symptoms don’t become too serious. Again, Ocean Recovery will set up clients with a detox program -we’ll coordinate everything.

After detox, an inpatient rehab program lasting at least 30 days is recommended, however depending on your exact situation, a stay of up to 90 days or more may be necessary.

Upon completion from rehab, a ’sober living’ situation is also highly recommended. Sober living is less structured than a rehab program, and it also costs less. The goal of sober living is to help people who have successfully completed a rehab program get back into a normal life: finding steady employment, doing chores, eating right, socializing with the right kinds of people, etc. Ocean Recovery is a provider of both Rehab and Sober living, so the transition is easier than ever.

Many individuals also find that Support Groups such as AA, Narcotics Anonymous, and many others are helpful for preventing relapse. These programs aren’t for everyone, but if you can find a group that works for you, then it’s basically a free way to maintain your commitment to staying sober.

If you’re a relative or friend of someone who’s afflicted with chemical dependency, you’ve most likely suffered a great deal of stress and spent a lot of time worrying about the health of your loved one.

You’re not alone. It is very common for the friends and family of those suffering from addiction to suffer quite a bit themselves. In fact, there are entire organizations dedicated to dealing with friends and family who are addicted to drugs and alcohol; one example is Alanon, however there are a few others.

When you work with Ocean Recovery, we can offer guidance to the family and friends of those going through a tough time – we recognize that with family support, the chances of long term sobriety are much greater. Give us a call today if you’re interested in learning what we can do for you.

In the context of chemical dependency treatment, a sober living home is a collection of individuals who have generally recently completed an inpatient rehab program. Sober living homes are also commonly known as halfway houses, or transitional living arrangements – but their purpose is fairly straightforward: providing a safe and healthy environment filled with like-minded individuals who are looking to stay sober.

One important thing to note is that a Sober Living home is not a replacement for a rehab program, but instead it is a way for an individual to ease back into regular life after successfully completing rehab.

Ocean Recovery provides both inpatient rehab and sober living, so if you’re planning on completing a sober living program after rehab, then choosing an inpatient rehab program at Ocean Recovery will allow a seamless transition without the worry of having to making arrangements before you complete an inpatient program.
