Ocean Recovery is conveniently located in the heart of Newport Beach, California, steps away from the beach and the beautiful Pacific Ocean.

In the process of incorporating the 12 steps into their lives, clients are encouraged to find a power greater than themselves to guide them on their path to recovery. This can be difficult in the beginning, as it is easier said than done to relinquish their perceived control over their lives. The reality of addiction is that the disease is actually in control. The 12 steps encourage us to find a higher power of our own understanding, to help us admit our powerlessness over our addiction and to believe that there is way of living free of the obsession of drugs and alcohol. Living near the ocean provides clients a healthy, holistic opportunity to apply the concept of finding a power greater than themselves.

Ocean Recovery provides a comfortable, safe, and convenient living situation, monitored full-time by staff. Clients are encouraged to explore passions and interests they may have lost touch with in the grips of their disease. Our location provides clients the opportunity to visit the beach, tennis courts, attend a variety of sporting events, and participate in horseback riding. We offer shuttle service to and from meetings, appointments, and outside activities. Clients are also provided a beach cruiser bicycle upon admission for leisure and their own means of transportation. The facilities at Ocean Recovery are newly remodeled units with a plethora of amenities to assist clients in reintegrating back into normal, everyday living. Living quarters are equipped with on-site laundry, phones, satellite TV, and computers with high speed internet service. Clients are, however, encouraged to keep the use of internet and television to a minimum in order to participate in groups, outings, and extracurricular activities with their peers to enhance their recovery experience.

Ocean Recovery is ultimately an environment of compassion and caring that inspires recovery. In-patient clients are surrounded by counselors and professionals during the day, and a full-time evening and night staff. In the process of getting to know their peers and the staff at Ocean Recovery, clients create lasting bonds and feel comforted knowing that they are in an environment surrounded by people who understand and relate to what they’re going through. Ocean Recovery aims to build not just an opportunity for the client to achieve a new way of living, but a lasting commitment to sobriety, access to resources, long-lasting friendships, and a place they can always return to in times of need.

Sober Living

Ocean Recovery sober living provides a step down facility from initial in-patient care. Separate facilities are provided for men and women. Clients live in a house with peers who have been through the initial program, and share living quarters with clients who have achieved a similar consistency and stability in their sobriety. Sober living allows clients more independence, and with independence comes responsibility. When ready, clients are encouraged to go to sober living as the next step in their transition back into normal living. The houses provide similar amenities as do the in-patient housing, with a living area, common room, and kitchen, including satellite TV, phones, and wireless internet connection. Clients are responsible for getting to meetings and appointments themselves and are required to enroll in school and/or get a job. Clients still attend groups at Ocean Recovery and receive continued support and follow-up from their treatment team.

We maintain 24/7 staff supervision with office hours from 8am -10pm.
